Why you Can't make Liposomals at home

The chart above refers to an independent, simple, yet comprehensive report on the bioavailability of 1g of liposomal Vitamin C (Lipolife® Gold) compared to 1g of non-liposomal oral Vitamin C. Just 1g produced a peak plasma level of 282.3 µM/L. Based on this data we can confirm Lipolife Vitamin C is clinically proven to provide over 6 times higher absorption than other liposomal Vitamin C supplements and over 8 times higher absorption than standard oral Vitamin C supplements.

Does liposomal vitamin C have to be liquid?

No! Those companies or brands who say yes, simply haven't mastered the technology.

If water is removed, it cannot maintain its three-dimensional shape. This leads to a loss of the structural shape. This means that liposomal powders in the conventional sense do not exist.

Liposomes can be converted into a stable powder form through processes such as freeze-drying (lyophilisation) or spray drying. During freeze-drying, water is removed under low temperature and vacuum conditions, preserving the structural integrity of the liposomes.

The addition of cryoprotectants during the drying process helps maintain the liposome structure and functionality by preventing aggregation and fusion.

Liposomal powders can be reconstituted by adding water or other suitable solvents, which allows them to regain their original liposomal structure and properties. This can also occur upon ingestion. Upon reconstitution, the phospholipid bilayer reforms, encapsulating the vitamin C as it did in the liquid form.

Lipolife have independent, third party evidence demonstrating that our liposomal powders retain their encapsulation efficiency, particle size, and bioavailability after reconstitution. These studies also prove that the structural integrity and functional properties of liposomes can be preserved even after the water is removed and then reintroduced.

What is a Liposomal capsule?

The active ingredient is encapsulated within liposomes. Liposomes are tiny spherical vesicles with a lipid bilayer that can encapsulate both hydrophilic (water-soluble) and hydrophobic (fat-soluble) substances. These liposomes are then dried to be encapsulated in a traditional capsule shell, either hard or soft. Once ingested, the capsule dissolves, releasing the liposomes. The liposomes protect the active ingredient as it passes through the digestive system, enhancing its absorption into the bloodstream.
