Please note the source of the MSM (also known as Opti MSM) in our products is pine trees. There are a number of cheap MSM products synthesised from an unnatural source (petroleum) or filled with irrelevant rubbish. Our advice is very clear: do not use those products!
MSM: An Essential Dietary Sulphur!
Robert Herschler, working for Crown Zellerbach in Portland, Oregon first isolated MSM. Both he and Dr. Stanley Jacob of the University of Oregon Medical School have done extensive research and testing on this exciting substance.
MSM, or methylsulfonylmethane, is a natural, organic sulphur compound, found in all living things. This form of organic sulphur is the forth most prevalent mineral in the human body. In his research, Dr. Jacob determined that the sulphur in MSM, called sulfonyl, is as safe and as important as vitamin C in our diet, unlike the bad sulphurs: sulfa, sulfate, sulfite and sulfide.
Sulphur a Major Key To Health:
MSM comes from the ocean and is a prime source of bio-available sulphur, which is lost from our food because of storage, processing, drying, cooking and preserving. MSM is an important food (not a drug or medicine) and plays many roles in the body, including the stimulation of the growth of healthy skin, hair and nails. It is needed by the body for healthy connective tissues and joint function, proper enzyme activity and hormone balance, along with the proper function of the immune system. Because bio-nutritional sulphur plays such a major role in these healthy body functions and others.
For more detailed information on MSM, we recommend this audio CD or go to YouTube and and search for MSM. Or go to Amazon, and search for the book MSM The Natural Solution for Pain.
Why Buy Powder rather than capsules?
The cheapest way to buy MSM in bulk is in powder form. Arthritis, joint pain sufferers and those with skin problems, often seem to benefit by taking it in a much higher dosage than the 1g per 40 pounds of bodyweight per day that's generally recommended. On the other hand MSM powder doesn't taste very nice. Unfortunately there's not much we can do about that.
